Is HTML5 Still The Future?
Is HTML5 Still The Future?
Question. Is HTML5 losing it's luster? I mean, is it worth using anymore?
Also, when is Internet Explorer 10 coming out for Windows 7?
Thank you....

Yes! (Parts of) HTML5 is/are worth using. To maintain backwards compatibility while using new HTML5 features, I recommend using the HTML5 input types, especially "number", "email", "url", and "tel", since they are quite helpful when using mobile devices (and those 4 types gracefully degrade to "text" in older browsers). Using new elements like <nav> and <section> can be good too, but I recommend against applying styles directly to them and against referencing them in CSS selectors, such that your page does not rely on a JavaScript shim script for the page to look as intended in older browsers that don't recognize HTML5 elements.
The first release candidate (RC1) of IE10 is available for Win7 now.

I wouldn’t fully quote HTML5 as the complete future. I would say - the future has arrived. All browsers are being upgraded to be support HTML5 which means it runs in the present. The fact that HTML4 still functions on several browsers and by several WebPages states that html5 is still considered as the developing present. It is expected that in a few months, HTML5 will take over the world wide web completely. In fact, html5 is progressing so fast that html6 is rapidly developing. Windows 10 is already out for windows. Windows 8 supports windows 9 by default and automatically upgrades to windows 10. Windows 10 can be downloaded for windows 7 as well.

Completely? How? Do you mean that all of the HTML4 and XHTML 1.x documents will magically be transformed?

From what I've read there won't be an HTML6, HTML5 will just keep being added to.

By "Windows 10" and "Windows 9", you mean "Internet Explorer 10" and "Internet Explorer 9", respectively, don't you?
