    Linking "irregular" links

Let's say I have a map of USA and I would like to link each state differently. how to cover whole state with one link, because states are represented as irregular shapes

Maps (e.g. of USA or the World) are the best use-case for image maps (for most other things rectangular clickable-regions work well). Also it's probably possible to do that with canvas or Flash.

another solution would be to just create divs but if you need more precise borders, image maps
