i run a windows 98 system, is it possible to load IE 2 - 5 and Navigator 2 - ? and while i'm at it opera, without them conflicting with each other.

Basically no. You could probably load the older versions, maybe 2 and 3, and one of the newer versions - 4, 4.5 or 5, but the later versions are too complex to run on the same OS, particularly with IE, because it's so integrated with Windows. You can try it if you wish, but I wouldn't take bets on it not messing up your whole system.
