It seems that in IE the pop up window is always in front but in netscape it often in the back (hidden).
Is there some kind of force?

Try putting this into the <body> tag of the popup window. onLoad="window.focus()"

    Thanks.
Most of my popup windows are just images (gifs) so there is no <body> tag.
I guess I could turn them into html pages.

in netscape 4+, you can put "alwaysRaised=yes" into the openWin function. This might make an unblurable window, which could be a bit annoying in itself, but you could try it.
