"window.open" problems in netscape

Help!

I've been using Dreamweaver to create a site
and have used its openbrowserwindow behavior, only to find that in navigator when I "mousedown" the button I created to open the new window the new window jumps behind the original window - only if the mouse is located over the button on the "mouseup"! (there is no action subscribed to the button other than the "mouseover, mouseout, mousedown")

Hope someone can help as they did last time
