    I am attempting to embed a flash file, and I can do it two ways, one where it is the only object on the page... in which case I can specify its width and height as percentages...

    But if I embed it only taking up part of the page... so I can have other stuff on the page.. I can not define using percentages...
    I thought about possibly using a parameter to get the page width and height, but I am not sure how to do that...

    Any ideas on how to use percentages to embed this thing as only part of the page??? I would be willing to spend a few hours helping you out with any question you have if you find me a working answer to this... thanks for your time and brainpower!

    if you help me with anything I will personally take it upon myself to spend at least two hours researching/answering a questions for you! Thanks!

    Hi Jimmy , not sure what you want but....

    imagine you set a <div> like > <div id="flashDiv" style="position:absolute;z-index:10;width://widthof object//;height://height of object//;"><embed flash stuff here..... </div>

    then onload call function init()

    function init(){
    pageWidth=(document.layers)?innerWidth:document.body.offsetWidth;
    pageHeight=(document.layers)?innerHeight:document.body.offsetHeight;

    flashCont=(document.layers)?eval('document.flashDiv'):eval('flashDiv.style')
    flashCont.left=//set left//
    flashCont.top=//set top//

    }

    Now you can position absolutely by making flashCont.left=100
    flashCont.top=100

    or relative to the page by
    flashCont.left=pageWidth - //if flash object is 500 wide setting 250 here will center it//
    flashCont.top=pageHeight - //if flash object is 200 high setting 100 here will center it vertically.

    Hope that helps? if not give me a hoy on simon@firepages.com.au (looking for somebody to do the odd flash job!)
