    i have an client-side image map with 2 rectangular hotspots.

    I'm trying to use coder such as this:

    <AREA SHAPE=RECT COORDS="0,0,51,98" HREF="blue.html" OnMouseOver="window.status='BLUE';return true;" OnMouseOut="window.status='NONE';return true;">

    the code doesn't report an error, but i get no window.status changes when i put the mouse over the hotspot. when i move the mouse AWAY, i get a window.status chance to the OnMouseOver text. The OnMouseOut text is never seen. I've always had trouble with images and onmouseover. Are they compatible?
    i'm using IE5, if that helps. Thanks in advance.

    well, it works in netscape 4.51 perfectly.

    see this site as an example:

    view it in both IE5 and then in Netscape 4.51
    is this a HTML compatibility problem for IE5?
    the specific version of ie i have is 5.00.2014.0216
