Hi. i've been running ASP scripts for a week and everything was going great untill yesturday. Something happened to my localhost or someone happened it, and now it doesn't want to execute any webs. Says Internal Server Error 500. If I remember correctly I had something similar a year ago, but I managed to fix it by tweaking my browser settings. (dont ask me why). I use LAN to connect to the net. Nothing I do now works. I've tried to restart the server serveral times now. On the begining it would try to execute something and would keep a white page (like it was calculating) but eventualy it would print an error. 500. now it just says error 500. Internal Server Error.
Uhm. Help? Thanks Guys. Max |

I think there are some issues with the loopback address when not 127.0.0.1 and XP SP2.
But I don't know the fix, try searching google for your error message.

I found a fix!
Hey. Oki. I found a fix. This happens with IE when You connect with LAN to the internet and 'Automaticaly Detect My Lan Settings' box is checked in the Connection Menu. Just uncheck this button and everything goes back to normal with this error. I'm sure this is a common problem to have with newbies to IIS, because that box is usualy checked by default.

FWIW, on my network, from by XP Pro SP2 computer behind a Linksys DSL router, I don't need to uncheck that setting.
