Active directory, error, login attmept failed, can not connect to domain
Hi all,
Got a quick question. I have active directory running under windows server 2000. However, for some reason, the active directory service keep saying the login attempt failed. I will try to detail how this issue cam up as much as I can.
I have two subnets running, one running on on inside switch, and another running on an external switch. My active direcotry and exhchange run on the domain controller, and I currently deployed sharepoint server portal on another web server on the external subnt. I wwas trying to make the second external subnet active directory integrated, so I switch that option in the DNS GUI. However, after I did that, the active directory service stopped. So, I took that option and switched ti back to the default (standard primary), and thought that it might fix it but it didn't. The other subnet in the reverse lookup zones is still running active directory, and is still letting users login to their computers, however when I bring up the active diretory interface it wont let me conenct to the domain because I get the error:
windows cannot to the new domain because:
the logon attempt failed.
I can find the domain I normally use, when I try to connect to it, but this is the error that i get when I try to connect to it. I would appreciate any advice on this issue, and thanks in advance!
