Can I install IIS on XP home?(workaround required!)
I am doing MCAD and have all the required books and software. I now find that because I have XP home on my pc I dont have IIS. Being a PHP/Apache dev for 6 years I had no idea that XP home had this shortcoming.
The only solutions I have found online requires me to have a win2000 cd, which I dont have. i can apparently tweak Apache, but I prefer to use IIS, as the exam covers IIS as well. I also dont want to buy a new OS at the moment. Any suggestion? If installing it from win2000 cd is my only salvation - i can try and organise it. Thanks |

Get XP Pro.
There are some kludges available, I'm sure google will turn up something, please bookmark where you get any kludge from and if you have problems with your IIS ask there. IIS is not supported on XP Home for many reasons, and trying to force a square peg into a round hole often causes unintended consequences.
