Question Can't access IIS Server

Hi all!

Found you guys after trawling the net for some assistance!

I am new to using IIS and .NET and want to do some intensive studying to understand it. So with this in mind I have two computers networked at home. Both have web access through a gateway.

My main PC (XP Pro SP2) is connected to the router by cable and my laptop (XP Home) by wireless. Both run XP firewall.

I have installed IIS Server on the XP Pro machine along with .NET 2.0. I have VS Express 2005 installed on laptop.

My laptop can access the default web page served by IIS when no other web sites are setup. However, if I try to create a new ASP.NET web site from Express it tries to access the IIS Server via the guest account with a password (which I have NOT setup). and then says that I am not authorised to access the machine.

I am thinking there is a permissions problem but don't know what to do. Please help.

I hope that is sufficient information for someone out there to help me with an answer.

Thanks in advance.

Bryan

Sounds like a Visual Studio Express specific problem to me. MS has newsgroups for support of their products, perhaps you can find some more info by looking there.

I don't know the answer, anyway
