Hi there,
i having a nightmare with my IIS at the mo, i am working on a project and am using IIS to test the ASP/SQL. but lately i am not seeing the latest versions of my files. I have tried deleting the temporary files in the internet options, running window washer, running disk clean up, removing the IIS virtual directory and reinstalling it. Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions, any help is Much appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Also if there is no way of clearing the cache is there a way of telling the scripts NOT to cache the files? |

If you're using asp search the asp forums, there are a number of response methods that can prevent web page caching in the browser.
If you restart IIS does that clear your problem? I've had to do that on older IIS versions to get edited asp (server) code to be seen.

Thanks for the tip. Yeh in the end i deleted the IIS directory, cleared my history, temp net folder even reset my net settings, then i renamed the folder holding the WEBsite and created another IIS directory and it finally worked but f**k doing that every time!!
Ill have a look in the ASP forum, thanks again |

I have experienced a scaled down version of your problem recently. Sometimes I refresh the browser and IIS seems to serve a messed up version of the page. But after a while things worked a lot better. Such a reproducible problem if I may speak sarcastically. I wonder if I'll be sticking with IIS in the long run . . .

I dont think i will be there a few glitxhes, minor and major that just make things a nightmare! I have now resulted in testing it online i have paid for a web hosting a account to test Server languages because IIS is just useless for me! If you find a way to solve the cache problem post in this forum as IIS may be what it is but it is easier than web hosting if it works!

I'm not sure what might be causing your problems. I use a W2003/IIS web host and it's extremely stable, and I've run IIS servers internally without any of the problems you are experiencing. Your problems could be caused by hardware, configuration, other software, corrupted windows files, or who knows what else.

Your right, they could affect the performance of IIS but i formatted my HD's about 3 weeks ago, that may be what have caused it i dont know but i am now just inserting a line of code
response.expired = -1500 This stop the page from caching so its all good at the mo, but without it it goes tits up |
