Hi
I was hoping that somebody could either help me out or point me in the right direction... I want to use (in IIS 5) custom HTTP headers to make sure that css, javascript and image files are all cached, in the context of an ASP / MsSQL application. I wanted to know what I need to as a custom header name and value, in the dialog box. I have manged to find lots of sites telling me that it is possible to set these cache settings by file types or directory, but none that actually tell me how to go about doing it. Thanks in advance ! flipflops. |

I found a solution - its not particularly nice but there you go.
All the scripts are in a directory called 'scripts', the styles are in 'styles', images in 'pictures' etc. In IIS I have navigated to these particular folders and then right clicked to get the properties tabs and in these set content expiration time to 20 days (as oposed to expires immmediately for ASP pages) This is a bit of a fiddle because I have to do it on both live and test servers and for each directory... but it works. |
