Hi All,
So, I get this error when trying to connect to my site using IIS 6.0: Quote:
I am aware that this seems to be a 'default page' error. I have gone to the document tab and removed all defaults except the intended target: signin.aspx . Is there something else that I should be doing? Thanks in advance. |

There is a setting somewhere to allow or not allow directory listing when the user navigates to a directory that doesn't contain any of the default documents you've configured. The setting is on the virtual directory page in IIS5

Sounds like it, IIS normally won't have any access to files in your profile directory. There should be some info in the Visual Studio documentation on how to configure web projects so IIS can use your project. |

almost there.
ok, thanks.
I have moved my directory path to C:Projects/My_Site I have a last question. I have been told to assign ASPNET security settings to each folder in the path and was given a warning when I tried to do this for my C: root directory. Is this a security threat? Should I be partitioning my hard drive and putting all my web sites on "D:", for example? thanks again. |

And there is no reason to partition your drive for permissions, but there may be many other valid reasons you'd want to partition. |
