Dreamweaver Contibute & IIS

I have IIS5 on my laptop. I am dev a website and it works using D8 set up with a local server. BUT when I try to set the site up for contribute (manage sites) and click the test button it reports no files at this address. If I put the same address (URL) generated by D8 into my browser it works (the index file is index.shtml. If I try to separately get contribute (3.11) to access the server and website with \\localhost\wmsV3 (root) - the contribute HELP says this is the form to use it also comes up with a blank. I suspect I have something wrong with the access to IIS.

Note I can test everything in D8.

Please help (novice user)
