Fails to get file when SSL is enabled
Hi!
I've created a virtual directory in IIS 5.1 containing lots of files. I've set read and browse rights on the directory. When using SSL browsing works fine, but getting a file produces some dialog to pop up telling that there is a cache problem. If I turn of SSL both browsing and download works fine. After further investigation it appears that the problem only occurs on specific file types. mp3 files cannot be downloaded with SSL enabled, but png and html files for example are ok. |

The solution...
Finally found the solution myself, but I post it here in case someone else get the same problem...
Apparently this problem is caused by a bug in IE 6.0 sp1, not a problem in IIS... at least according to this page: URL The solution was simple, I selected the directory and changed an option in the HTTP-headers. The option I used was telling that content should be considered invalid immidately, I changed it so that content should be considerd valid for some days. And like magic it worked. |
