firefox asking for password in IIS, IE does not
Hiya, well I have to develop using both browsers for compability and stuff for my site design and so on. However when I try to view my site in IIS (localhost) it asks me for a password, but when I view it in IE it loads up fine, is there a fix for this?
I searched the net for a fix, but could not find anything except for someone who is having the same issue like me. Quote:
thats the issue I have. |

Look at the authentication settings in your IIS configuration.
If you are set for ntlm authentication (or whatever it's called) that is the windows challenge-response that is supported by IE only and not other browsers. Change it to basic authentication for all browsers.

Open up your computer Administrative Tools folder, find the Internet Information Services icon and start that up.
Then look open the properties page for Web Sites and look at the directory security tab, or navigate further down to an individual web site and do the same to make changes specific to an individual web. |
