I've seen a lot of posts - but no answers on this problem - and it's killing me
I've tried everything i can think of ... except smashing this box with a sledge hammer. I'm running XP Pro sp2 - i've installed and re installed IIS about 100 times with no success I cannot open the default page by IP address or locahost or by machine name my firewalls are either disabled or every port i can think of is exposed. please please please please please help me before i jump. d |

How are you trying to open the page, and what happens?
Were you the local administrator user when you installed IIS?

i've tried: http://localhost:8500 http://localhost http://127.0.0.1:8500 http://127.0.0.1 http://"machine_name":8500 http://"machine_name" |

I forgot to mention that i've got a linksys router - i'm not network savy enough to know if that might be causing port problems...or a URL problem?

i just finished a configuration on a machine with XP Pro sp1 and it works fine. please post an answer to the sp2 problem if you can d |

Turn off the SP2 firewall for testing.

you have to set the dmz setting to your local ip should be 192.168.1.101 or somethign along those lines unless you changed it
