Home Directory>Configuration... no response
I'm quite new to hosting a web server on my computer using IIS. My system is on Win XP Pro, IIS 5.1, ActivePerl Installed. I'm trying to get .cgi to run it. I know I have to map .cgi by going to IIS > my website > properties > Home Directory tab > Configuration. However, for some strange reason when i click on Configuration, nothing happens. No window, no dialogue, no error pop up, nothing. Any idea why this is happening, and any possible solutions? thanx

Perhaps some firewall software or antivirus script blocking software is causing a problem? Maybe there is something wrong with the IIS installation, if you are just starting with the site you could uninstall then reinstall IIS (make sure you're an administrator user).

I tried uninstalling and installing IIS 3 times. I do not have any sort of antivirus software on my computer. The only firewall i have is from my router, but I even put the comp in the DMZ and also port forward 80. Any other ideas? The main purpose of my site is to have FTP & HTTP with CGI. should I try switching to Apache? |

If you don't need ASP, Perl, php and Apache might play together easier.

CGI is a webserver thing, supported by both Apache and IIS. I'm not sure how you set CGI up in IIS though, I don't use it.
