Homepage not viewable

I hope someone can help with this query.

When the URL of my Website is typed in e.g

URL then an error 404 appears. If I type

URL then the page appears fine.

Anonymous login details are correct and the default.htm is setup in the document tab. All security settings appear to be fine.

I am at a complete loss as to why the page is not appearing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

John

Here is the problem....
Open your IIS manager
go th the site you created right click the site...click documents...creat a new document called index.html and move this new enrey to the top of the list
also make sure the folder you are running the homepage from has web sharring enabled.
last rename your home page index.html

Or just make sure default.htm is set as a default document. You can have multiple default documents for a website, like default.htm, default.asp, index.html and more.

Send a message via ICQ to aureliano
usually, you also should add the name "index.html", since some coders use it, and IIS won't set it by itself
