Http://localhost not working

I've installed iis but still htp://localhost is not working.

I get the following error.

To access IIS Help
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open text box, type inetmgr. IIS Manager appears.
From the Help menu, click Help Topics.
Click Internet Information Services.

That's not an error, that just means you don't have a default page in your web. Like the message told you, read up on default documents in the IIS help

Thats correct, its nothing but the default page of IIS. You have to upload default page in web root and add it in the list of Default Document in IIS.
