I can see my site, no one else can.

This is the first time I've set up IIS.. and for the first couple days It gave a cannot view page, or no connection to server... but now after a long wait, by going to http://MyIp/ -or- http://MyComputerName/ IT WORKS! The problem is, no one else outside my network can get to it. X_X

I am behind a router, but the firewall on the router and my computer are both turned off, and port 80 is open.

Now, since I've never set it up before, I don't know what the problem can be.. so where should i start troubleshooting at?

Your problems are in your network, not IIS.

You need to understand how domain name resolution to IP address works, and how port 80 traffic gets forwarded through firewalls and routers.

First, make sure port 80 is allowed through any firewall software on the IIS server. Then make sure port 80 is forwarded through any routers on your network, ending up on the proper internal IP address for your IIS server. Then make sure dns resolution from the outside world ends up on your site's external IP address.

Most routers act as a firewall without necessarily saying so, and in most routers you must port forward a tcp port from the WAN side to a LAN ip. Some ISP's block port 80 in their network.

Ok, tried completely different port and it worked Thanks alot....

I am hosting my domain at godaddy.com and when they ask for the nameserver, is it just 'my iport' or... 'http://myiport/' or.. where do i find this at?

Are you talking about the nameserver entry you make in your domain registration? For my domains my web hosting company provides the DNS servers and gave me the nameserver entries to use in domain registration files.
