IIS 5.1 hosting problems
Hi All,
I have a DSL connection of 1mbps, which I want to make good use of. So, therefore I hooked up the IIS 5.1 webserver, and got it online. Now, the problem that I face is, I can view it from the same machiene where the connection and the server exist. But, when I try running from my home pc or another pc, it give me the network error(tcp_error). I did this setup looking at http://www.dslwebserver.com, thought it might help to let you guys know that. http://ecronic.no-ip.info/trial/index.html This is one of the virtual folders that I have setup right now. My basic need is, a web server, which I should be able to access at any point of time, so kindly help me out here guys. Thanks & Regards Ecronic |

If y9our server works locally then you don't have an IIS problem. You must allow tcp port 80 to get to your webserver. Some ISP's block port 80. Or you might have a firewall and/or router that needs port 80 opened or forwarded.

Also, after all that, you need to find out if your ISP blocks port 80, like mine does(cox)
