IIs 5.1 XP PRO SP2 Localhost connection problem
Hi guys
I am trying to install and use this IIS for asp codes.
I am really going crazy.
I installed it. I gave the IUSER permissions the folders.
In iis manager i used permission wizard to apply all the permissions.
I can ping my localhost from dos. But in explorer when i write
http://localhost
it waits and waits no response. Also i cant open my asp files. All the same.
Sometimes it connects to localhost and i can access all the files and they work, but generally it doesnt connect i dont know what is the problem
please help guys thx
And be clear with me pls

Assuming you're using XP Pro and you've installed IIS, often this symptom is caused by antivirus script blocking programs, and/or firewall software. Try turning off any firewall/av script blocking for testing.

nope i only use windows firewall
and i closed it to try. It didnt change anything.
I am under a LAN connecting internet through internet sharing computer.
I think this problem occurs because of ie internet options ????
