Question IIS 500 internal error

hai
i know this is the repeat thread but i have differnet problem.

i have Windows XP2 with main drive on NTFS.i also installed VS 2005 on my pc .
but when i when i try to run IIS its giving 500 internal error.

i aleady done some steps wch we generally do like

uninstall & then reinstall it.
also check the wht error is all about . but not getting in a right way.

please help me wht went wrong in there.
it may possible i install all the things like visual studio 05, i also install frontpage .. but nothing help me

someone ... any one please


please help me out

You're going to have to get the details of your 500 error. In IE uncheck the "show friendly http errors" setting and see if you get more information.

Without the details you'll just be guessing, and there are probably hundreds of different causes for a 500 error, basically without details it just means you have a code or configuration error in your web.

but still it not works out

as i remove the check from the show friendly error messages

i got this message ---------

The server has encountered an eroor while loading an application during the processing of your request. please refer to the event log for more information. please contact server administrator for assistance .

i run nothin, but just try ing to run local host . but tyoing it only ..

please help me wht is the reason it is not working . & how can i made it run .. please help me

What error did you see when you checked the event log?

Unhappy 500 internal server error

soory , i get confused to about event log, i am seein the system32 folder files .. anyways

there i checked in the system tag ... i found this error

the server failed to load application LM/W3SVC/1/Root/

THE ERROR WAS ' Class not registered'

*****************

now what the problem & what is the remedy for it .... ??/

now please help me ... waiting for a good solution a kind reply ..

I don't have the link, but there is a MS command-line tool that will reset all the IIS settings, I think that's what you will need. Try searching for IIS and Class Not Registered.
