IIS 6 image with out extension not displaying
hi guys..
We are in a stage of migrating an application server in to new windows 2003 environment with IIS 6. case 1 In one Application we are using images with blank extension, these images are showing perfectly through ie 6, in previous version(IIS 5 and Win 2000), but not now. Case 2 Almost all applications, we re using seagate chrystal report 8 as reporting tool.As u all know we will have to install seagate page server as a windows service. But while installing its throwing an errror, " U have insufficient privilages to install this service Errror 1923 " But the same thing same installtion is perfectly happening with Windows 2000 server. Plz guide me thru..Im breaking my head here with this.... Cheeers..... Laji |

I've never heard of a file with no file extension displaying as an image.
Case 2 apparently your user account doesn't have permissions to do what you are trying to do.

Did you ever solve the image problem. I just ran into the same problem where I moved a site running able commerce to a new server. Half the images do not have extensions. They loaded fine under windows 2k but under 2k3 they will not load.
Thanks. |

I think the problem is that IIS doesn't know how to serve the file without an extension. Try adding a mime type for it.
