IIS and FRONTPAGE EXTENSIONS
Hi all,
I recently moved a small site from Linux / FPSE to Windows 2003 server with IIS6.0 and FPSE. Inside my site, when logging in under Frontpage, i see 2 copies of a bunch of folders and files. If you modify a file or put a file in a folder, it shows up in both copies of the file or folder. Anyone know why this may been happening and is this a common thing? Thanks in advance. Chad |

ftp to your site and see if you see the same duplicate folders and files.

No, the folders do not actually exist, there are not really duplicates as what is showing up in Frontpage. I have uninstalled Frontpage extensions and re-installed it and they still are there.

fp does create a lot of hidden folders like vti_whatever for it's own internal use.
Otherwise I have no idea how you'd be showing duplicate copies of files or folders, my FP server and various FP computers do nothing like that. |

its not vti folder, those are frontpage extensions folders, this is actual copies of folders. I have deleted one of them and it deletes both copies.
For example, I have a folder called bios Inside of Frontpage there are two bios folders. Both contain same files. You modify a file in one bios folder, the changes appear in both folders. On the local drive, under the inetpub, there are NOT two folders for bios, only one. It shows up as two inside of frontpage. |

Try opening your site in FP from a different computer. I have no idea what your problem may be but I doubt it's related to the server extensions.
