IIS .../cgi-bin permissions
Hey there, I've got a server running Windows Server 2k3 Enterprise, and I'm trying to use IIS to set it up so that www.(mainsite).com/.../cgi-bin can run scripts, and I've hit a bit of a wall. Anyone dealt with something like this before, or have any tips? I've tried poking around in IIS manager, but as of yet, to no avail.

Sorry, "hit a wall" doesn't mean anything to me.
You will need to give the IIS user account execute permissions in the cgi folder, I believe. I don't use cgi myself though.

By hit a wall, I simply meant that I was out of ideas of things to try.
Perhaps you could elaborate on giving the account permissions? I'm fairly new to playing with IIS. Also, this server is running JRun, and I'm wondering if that's why IIS won't let me start the default website. |

I use the windows explorer security tab to set permissions.
On the web server computer, open a browser to http://localhost/iishelp and read the chapter(s) on IIS authentication. I don't know what JRun is, but if it's a web server you can only have one web server running on port 80 at a time. |
