IIS default page shows as PWS
When I upgraded to Windows XP Pro I intalled IIS. Everything is fine and works. But I was digging around in the files and all the previous stuff from PWS is there. Also the default page from PWS is there. How can I get the default for IIS?

Ok I fixed the home page. But i would still like to delete alot of the extra stuf left over from PWS. Now my new problem. My default page comes up as http://127.0.0.1/IISSamples/Default/welcome.htm
How can I get it to where the home page comes up after i type my address in? Last edited by mallen : April 16th, 2004 at 08:55 PM. |

If you type in 127.0.0.1 it'll go to the root web folder and look for the default document (these are the files that are automatically opened if no page is specified). There's probably a document called default.htm or index.htm that is redirecting to the welcome.htm page in the iissamples folder. Just change this page to whatever you want the homepage to be.
