IIS folders and virtual directories not showing
Hello,
I am new to IIS and trying to understand it. I work with Visual Studio.NET, which always wants to create virtual directories right under INetPub. I want them elsewhere so I have been trying to create them manually first. But they are not showing up in the management console, even when I have created them. They don't show, yet if I try to create them again, IIS says the name I am choosing is not unique. Anyone know why they would not show in the MMC, if they are there? Thanks. Kel ![]() |

I don't know, as a guess check the permissions you've given to the folders and files in your virtual directory.

I have administrative priviledges on the machine, so shouldn't I be able to see all existing nodes?

Yes you should be able to view the web from the MMC. Maybe your installation is somehow corrupted, you could try uninstalling and then reinstalling IIS.

Did anyone get this problem figured out?
Another developer and myself are both having this problem and we are a little annoyed with it. Reinstalling IIS is not thing that we really want to do as it might mess up a lot of the web projects that we are working on with VS.NET. Thanks |
