hi,
i have 2 laptops and a PocketPC all wireless enabled. in one of the laptops, i create a computer-computer network with ip address as 169.254.x.x. from the other laptop and the device, i connect to the above created computer-computer network and obtain an IP dynamically which are also in the domain 169.254.x.x. The problem i face is either from the PDA or from the laptop, i am not able to access the IIS of my previous computer (where i created the comp-comp network). but i could successfully get Tomcat service on both PDA and the laptop. is there some special settings i need for Accessing IIS on Ad-hoc mode or Am i Missing something? please help me as this is very urgent. Thanks in advance Kavitha. |

IIS in ad-hoc mode.
i myself found the solution to this and it is the firewall. you need to turn it off and then ur request just goes to IIS. Thanks for all those who read this.
Warm Regards, Kavitha. |

Don't turn off the firewall, open port 80 instead. Otherwise you are removing other protection for your computer that you don't want removed.
