IIS not working
Hi all, new to the forum so here goes. I run win2000 pro and have recently installed IIS 5 to test websites locally on my machine, using dreamweaver mx as my development program. The only prob is that all the websites appear with 'no web site configured at this address' on their homepage. I have trawled around for answer to this but am a bit out of my depth. The internet services icon is in my system tray and everything else seems OK. Any ideas?
p.s. I am also running zone alarm pro. Cheers J |

I believe the text your are seeing is the IIS default page. Are you publishing your pages to the correct folder? By default, IIS uses C:\Inetpub to store your websites. And if so, go to where your website is stored and try removing their default default.htm page or whatever they called it.
In the IIS properties, you can specify which pages can act as a default index page. Make sure what you named yours (be it index.html or index.htm or default.htm or whatever) is in that list and of higher priority of their default (if you don't want to delete theirs for some reason). I hope that helped at least a little bit. Good luck! |

Try turning off ZoneAlarm for testing. The most recent ZA free update messes up my IIS on XP Pro.
