IIS on Windows 2003, NT Authentication
Hi everyone
I have a problem with NT Authentication. I'm using ColdFusion on Windows 2003 IIS and I'm trying to use NT Authentication for network users when they try to access a particular folder. I'd checked the allow NT Authentication checkbox in IIS and removed Anyonmous access and I was able to login fine. However, when another user tried to login, he was unable to. Am I missing something? Could it be the fact we have so many servers here and the NT Users access is stored on different servers? Please advise. Thank you for your time |

Thread moved from Security Policies to IIS.
What happens when the other user tries to logon? |

I'm not sure this is an IIS issue. If IIS6 works the same way as earlier versions, any authentication via IIS will be against the IIS server's local user database unless you specify a domain as part of your login.

thank you edwinbrains for moving the thread. Sorry for posting in the wrong forum.
I asked a fellow colleague who was sitting a few seats away in the same office, she login fine. The user downstairs were unable to login though. We are still on the same network. Doug G: I've made them specify their domain and the user was still unable to login. Do I need to specify a user group in IIS for the access rights? Thank you for all your time. Any help is appreciated. |

I'm not that familiar with IIS6, sorry.
Make sure the web directories do in fact allow the users or groups you're wanting to allow in i guess. With previous IIS the login syntax was DOMAIN\Username in the authentication box. |
