IIS Problem
Hi all,
I have IIS 6.0 with ASP.NET V1.1. We have our .NET Application hosted on this server and unexpectedly we have seen a message today on the server as "IIS Worker Process encountered a problem and needed to close". When i clicked on the error report i have the error signature data as szAppName: w3wp.exe, szAppVer: 6.0.3790.1830, szModName: mshtml.dll, szModVer: 6.0.3790.2666, offset: 000b358d In the System Event Viewer the following messages have been logged: 5/1/2007 12:48:29 PM W3SVC Warning None 1010 N/A SystemName A process serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' failed to respond to a ping. The process id was '2564'. 5/1/2007 12:32:28 PM W3SVC Warning None 1010 N/A SystemName A process serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' failed to respond to a ping. The process id was '288'. 5/1/2007 12:27:57 PM W3SVC Warning None 1011 N/A SystemName A process serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' suffered a fatal communication error with the World Wide Web Publishing Service. The process id was '4072'. The data field contains the error number. The Worker Pool seems to have restarted after the three warnings and the application is running normally now. I would like to know what went wrong in the first place that caused the Worker Process to close. Appreciate if someone can throw some light on this. Thanks |

Perhaps some kind of memory leak or low resources on the server, maybe even due to some other app on the server. Have you made and code changes to any pages in that website? Just a swag.
