IIS SMTP will not relay mail

Hello folks,

I have an application running on IIS that was built with ASP. It uses CDONTS and ASPMail to send email, both components are installed on the server. Another application uses ASPMail and it works fine.

I am using similar code to send ASPMail but keep getting
Mail failure occured. Reason: 503 No valid recipients specified

ASPMail helps points to relay issue.

Can anyone tell me how I can configure the IIS SMTP so it allows my application to be able to send mail to any domain.

Thanks.

I don't use the IIS smtp, but I think if you poke around in the documentation you'll find help on relaying and using the "smarthost" feature.

Hi Doug,

I am using the smart host feature and CDONTS works fine. It funny if I create a Remote domain, Yahoo and allow mail to be relayed to that domain than ASPmail works but I am sure this is not the way to do, I would have to create remote domains for all the domains.

Hopefully someone that's up on IIS SMTP can hop in here.
