IIS Startup Issues
I'm using WinXP Pro, and have IIS installed. However, sometimes after the computer boots up, I open IIS Manager, and the "Default Web Site" is stopped with a big red icon next to it.
When this occurs, I stop and restart the IIS service through Windows, and it doesn't kick back in. I've even restarted the service through DOS, and still, no good. I've even gone to the extreme of removing IIS altogether and reinstalling it, but again, the problem occurs. What's odd is just now, I've started the computer this morning for the first time, and IIS' "Default Web Site" is running just fine. Am I missing something? This is very odd. Thanks |

Are you running any other web server software on your machine? If you have Apache installed then it will take port 80 and you won't be able to start the IIS website.

Good thought, but no, I'm running any other web server. Any other suggestions?
