IIS "unable to connect" error...

Hi everyone,

I have a weird IIS problem that maybe someone can help me with. I've installed an app that requires some system settings changes, and runs the snapshot viewer via the IE6 for reporting. At any rate, was working fine but the client reinstalled his OS overtop to fix some unrelated bug...and when he did IIS crashed.

Now a complete reinstall of his system would be VERY difficult as his PC is also being used with another sensitive app. The IIS error itself is that it doesn't have any PC's connected in the management console. And when I try to connect it to itself (the IIS web server) it says, "unable to connect". I am really confused as to what would cause this.

Any thoughts?

Bill

What version of windows?

I'd say try uninstalling and reinstalling IIS if you can't find another solution.

Back up your webs first.
