I think 2000 is IIS 5. 6 comes with 2003

Many Thanks Veamon. Yes you are correct - version 5 does come with 2000.
If anyone comes across this in the future, you can find your IIS version by searching the root directory for "ASP.DLL" which should resolve a file within the System32 directory. Right click on this file and select properties - within here you can see the version of IIS if installed. |

Windows 2000 = IIS 5.0
Windows XP (Pro only) = IIS 5.1 Windows 2003 = IIS 6 There is an IIS 7 in the works I believe, probably just for Vista. Other windows versions: NT4 Server = IIS 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 (older versions seldom if ever used) NT4 Workstation = PWS 4.0 Windows 9x = PWS 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 4.0 (4.0 the only version that worked well imho) Windows Me didn't "officially" support a web server but PWS 4.0 works on Me. XP Home = no IIS
