IIS7 URL Rewrite

I can't seem to get the syntax right for forcing a folder to use https?

i want a wildcard match on http://*/members/*

to https://*/members/*

ensuring all querystring and filenames are kept intact.

how do I do this?

Thanks,

1DMF.

hey doug, no not really.

some of it is to do with IE9 keeping cached details and ignoring the server rewrites.

I've got it working to a point now, but other things I can't do it turns out is, if you force SSL for security via IIS you cannot rewrite to https, to get the rewrite to work you have to disable forced SSL connection. yeah that's right to get the rewrite to work you have to reduce the security!

good one MS!

The biggest problem I have is the 500 error with perl, so am considering moving away to PHP or ASP.NET , developing in perl via a browser is no longer an option as you cannot debug or get errors!

Nightmare!

There are lots of mod_rewrite examples showing redirects to https rewrites. If IIS rewrite is similar maybe the rewrite patterns from one of them might help.

Thanks, but it isn't of any help as I mentioned.

I'm not prepared to turn off 'require SSL', and therefore the rewrite engine doesn't work as the check for 'require SSL' preceeds any rewrite!

If for some reason the rewrite stopped working, it could leave the members extranet vunerable and allow it to run over non-ssl , which I'm not prepared to allow or take the risk of rewrite failure.

would you guarantee and bet your company's data on a newly introduced feature, in a new version of software by microsoft to be 100% safe, secure, bug free and always work?
