    Question Indexing service replacement

Apologies firstly if this is not the right area for posting.

Our current hosting is on a windows 2003 server and supports indexing service. We have created a catalogue for our web site and using Classic ASP to connect and search the catalogue via SQL.

We are now upgrading our server to windows 2012 server and it appears indexing service is no longer supported.

My question is what is the correct route to go down so that we can still search our website with the minimal changes to our Classic ASP code?

From what I have found on the internet the two options are:
    • Microsoft Search Server Express
    • Windows Search Service

But I don't know which of these is best in terms of replicating indexing service catalogue searches

Windows Search Service is the new version of the Indexing Service. Wikipedia

Whether your existing code will be able to connect and query it, or what kinds of changes you'd need to make if not, I don't know.
