I am having a problem with IIS log files. The issue is with the timesamp of the entries that it saves. Taking a cross section of the logs you will see the error. Code:

A simple restart of the server did the trick, although must say wasn't impressed I had to do that!!

I believe the timestamps are in UTC, but you can change a setting in IIS to use local time for filenames and rollovers.

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply, unfortunatly it wasn't to do with the UTC outlined by http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=271196 The only information I found about it was an article on IIS4 and it keeping the same time and date in log files if the server hadn't been restarted in 45days. After restarting IIS a number of times I restarted the whole server to resolve the issue, I don't know if this is a bug with IIS6 as I haven't seen it reported or that our server just got stuck in some kind of loop. I don't like restarting production servers as there really shouldn't be a need, but i supose thats what you get when you buy M$! ![]() |
