Hi here all. I need help with multiple domain hosting on Windows 2003 Server.
[sorry my english] Here is my Problem : I have two name servers with Windows Server 2003. primary ns1.domain.com and secondary ns2.domain.com. On first machine have multiple domains. All domains now with one IP address (All unassigned) So now I can't create for every domain for example ftp:// access with port 21 . And can't assign for example SSL Certificate for every domain , becouse all domain using some one IP address. And need every domain with own IP. I know this, but I don't know how to do this ... My Server not working correctly ! Need create for every domain one own IP local address ! How I can to do this ? With file C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts I was testing any configuration but it's not working 127.0.0.1 localhost 192.168.2.6 domain1.com 192.168.2.8 domain2.com 192.168.2.10 domain3.com Please help me !!!!!!!! |

Extremely vague question and a lot of the answers you need has nothing to do with DNS. But we can lay down the foundation here if you would just tell me at least 2 of your domains.

I'm moving your question to the IIS forum.

Hmm, to give each domain it's own IP you need to assign the necessary IP's to the network card, then create new websites per ip. Refer to the IIS online documentation for assistance with creating the new websites.
I don't know about the certificates, check with support from your certificate vendor.

Re:
Exactly , I have creted on Network card any IPs that is : 192.168.2.6
192.168.2.8 192.168.2.10 192.168.2.12 192.168.2.14 [ all this IP is local] Then with IIS 6.0 have created for every domain host header example: (multidecorline.com = 192.168.2.8, and www.multidecorline.com = 192.168.2.8 ) Every domain name with own IP . Ok. My Network external IP 80.28.40.*** Primary DNS Server ns1.agroyalnetwork.com Secondary DNS Server ns2.agroyalnetwork.com Host address for every domain have external IP address = 80.28.40.*** If IIS have assigned for someone domain (All Unassigned) IP configuration so all web site working without problem . But then I can't open for every domain own ftp host with port 21. Becouse all domain using one similar IP. I think you understand me about what I talking ? I need to know how assign every domain with own IP address and this will working ? May be usign lmhosts file or hosts file ? May be DHCP server ? May be WINNS Server ? I'm confused here ! Please help me . Thanks . |

You don't use host headers if you want independent web sites on independent IP's. Instead, you create new web sites and assign just the single IP to each web site.
I don't have IIS6 and can't help with specifics, sorry. lmhosts, dhcp, wins should not have anything to do with this iis setup. |

Re
no ! it's imposible to do without host header.
Every domain must be to have own host and own IP. =========================================== |

OK, but host headers are used to allow multiple domains on a single IP. good luck! Take a look here, it might help http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Web-Sites-Windows-2003.html |

I don't have any ideas either, there are some good IIS sites like www.iisfaqs.com that might have more info for you.
