Multiple Websites(IIS5)
I've tried searching and googling this to no avail.
What I want to do is create another website in IIS. After a google, I found the way to do it was to right click on the computer name in the IIS manager and select new. Problem is, i don't have that option. I've noticed in the screenshots that they all have an asterik beside their computer name whereas I dont. It lists my computer as COMPUTERNAME( local computer ). Now i'm able to create virtual directories, but that doesn't suit what i need to do. I'm running Win XP Pro, SP2. |

Get a server version of windows, it's your only choice for multiple IIS websites.

Work Around for Windows XP Professional
There is a work around posted that allows you to setup multiple web sites under IIS but only run 1 at a time.
http://www.iisfaq.com/Default.aspx?tabid=3037 Your other options are: Change OS to Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 server. Install Virtual Server 2003... and do the above. |
