Need a little IIS help. Please
Hi,
i have just subscribed to DynDns.org for my free Dynamic IP host. I have also setup IIS on my Win XP SP2 PC, and setup my default web site to be a folder on my c:\, called web_root. I have also told IIS the first page to load is the adequate home.html file within that folder. my problem is, when i try to open this page from outside my home LAN, i cannot via any browser. however, if i ping my dyndns host/URL from outside the LAN, it doies ping and returns my ADSL router's IP. Why does it not open the page via the browser? I guess that as IP is held at the router side, its looking at the router not my PC for the requested pages. How do i adjust this? Million thanks! |

Your firewall or ISP (or both) may be blocking incoming http traffic. And with a broadband router you also need to set up port forwarding in the router to direct http traffic to the desired internal web server.
