Integrated windows authentication
This: Integrated windows authentication checked
is causing the automatic display of the networked username and password. Uncheck it and you should be good to go. Q |

Thanks, but that didn't seem to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've been piddlin with this most of the day trying to stumble on to something that corrects it. I had IS connect my old Win98/PWS computer back up to run my web apps but only for a short while. I hope I can figure this out before my hair gets any grayer. Sorry I'm not very knowledgable of IIS (behind the times) but I have a feeling by the time I get this straightened out I'll have a better understanding of how it works. |

Are you using a browser other than IE? On my XP box IE works fine to the local IIS server, but Firefox prompts for a password, only in the root web though. I haven't tracked down the cause.

All our network computers are using I.E 6.0. I've noticed that quite a few other posts concerns the same issue (username/password required) . I have tried just about everything that I can think of. I hope it's something simple that I'm overlooking. I really need to get this fixed. thanks |

I unchecked Integrated windows authentication. Now I receive "unauthorized" notice.

All I can suggest is to look at the web folder from Windows explorer and check the file access lists in the security tab.

Can't tell you how much I appreciate your help. You the man! I had a lot riding on this one and you saved my butt. I changed the permissions settings for IUSR_adamsrw in my folders like you suggested. |
