Occasional FTP login problem
I have an FTP site on IIS 4 that is connected to via a batch file running on a remote client. The client attempts a login every 30 minutes, checks for the presence of data and performs a GET if data is present, then logs out.
Occaisionally (maybe once or twice per day) the login fails. The Event log on the server lists the correct username, but the log entry description is "Unknown username or bad password". The login attempt is definitely coming from the client PC with the batch file - FTP logs trap the source IP address. There is no other indication on the FTP log or the Event logs to indicate anything else out of the ordinary happening. Any ideas what might be happening? (Yes, I will be upgrading soon! - but not in the next month or so) |

Maybe some kind of network problem or slowdown where the authentication times out? Simply a guess, I don't use FTP in IIS.
