Permissions: My server guy can't set em....

I am a web master who happened into a relationship with a guy who rents a server from Server Beach. I think it is Windows 2003. Anyway, I have had over a dozen client's sites on his server for a few years now with no problems, til last week. His previous tech guy left him and was replaced with a nice young man who is doing his best to solve this issue but I need your help. About 10 days ago, the new tech guy installed a patch from Microsoft only later to learn that a feature of the patch/update should not be started on Windows 2003. The server would not reboot. Server Beach told him to switch servers. This has been an ardous task at the very best. Now we are at the point that the sites are up and running on the net, but the permissions keep giving us a problem. The message we keep getting is this:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.

/scripts/update_link.asp, line 19

He has gone in and set the permissions to read/write but it just doesn't seem to help...

Can you help?

Thanks.

If you don't get an answer here maybe try the windows OS forum, this really isn't an IIS question.

In general, make sure the IIS user account has proper write permissions to the mdb file, TEMP folder, etc.
