Problem setting up HTTPS on IIS 5
Hi guys,
I have a domain name which I host and provide DNS for on my home machine. What I am trying to do is setup SSL. I am currently getting a "Cannot find server or DNS Error" message when attempting to connect to the HTTPS, but can connect without SSL fine. Setup is as follows: ADSL on static IP Firewall on ADSL router (set to allow DNS, HTTP and HTTPS) Windows 2000 Server, IIS 5 and Windows DNS The router provides me with my IP - wonder if this might be a problem? I have got a Comodo certificate and installed in MMC and attached to the relevant site in IIS. Not sure what other information might be helpful? Thanks for any help you can give me! |

Is the https port open through your firewall?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, 443 was open.
I've actually sorted it now. I had left the web site identification ip address as all unassigned. Setting that has fixed it. I found that out using this excellent tool from Microsoft, SSLDiag: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=CABEA1D0-5A10-41BC-83D4-06C814265282&displaylang=en I recommend that to anyone having SSL setup issues. |

The tool was incredibly useful. It's like having an "I win" button. Definitely get the tool if you're having problems.
