Server 2003 allows 'localhost' but not public IP browsing of website
Hello guys/gals
I have a Windows 2003 Server box behind a Linksys Router. I am hosting a single website with IIS 6. If I browse the URL the website comes up. Browsing the public IP for the website does NOT work. Normal Internet access works fine. Similarely, on a dual-boot, I have a Windows XP with IIS 5 serving the identical website. I can browse the website with both localhost and public IP. The Router and both OSs are set for DHCP. ZoneEdit resolves the name to my public IP at the Router. The IIS for both OSs are set the same (I am sure). I do not want to remain in this dual-boot configuration for long. Can you help with the 2003 setup. Thanks in advance! Werner |

Give your computer a static LAN ip and then ensure port 80 is forwarded to your computer LAN ip from outside.
