Setup of new FTP site - few questions
I am currently looking after a server that is running with a default ftp server to allow anonymous ftp access from our office ip address.
I need to setup a new FTP for a partner company and only allow them access to their folder on the server. I plan on doing this by isolating their account to their folder. That is the easy bit.
How do i get them to identify the site if the default site is running on all unassigned IP address. How can i setup a 'host' eg ftp.myserver.com for the new server whilst my default FTP server continues to run without problems. I can setup a DNS record to point to the ip address of the server but wont it just go to the default site.
The server is behind a firewall that is managed by someone else and they have opened port 20/21 for ftp.
Thanks
john
